Which platforms does JewelKhata support?

JewelKhata is available on Android (Google Play) and on iPhone and iPad (App Store). The app works in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new user gets a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. You start the trial from the subscription screen in the app through Google Play or the App Store. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Cancel anytime in the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone) subscription settings. You keep access until the end of the current period, and your records stay on your phone.

Does JewelKhata work offline?

Yes, 100%. Everything — khata, orders, girvi, inventory, backups — works without internet. You only need a connection to start or renew the subscription and to check live gold and silver rates.

How secure is my data?

Your records are stored in an AES-256 encrypted database on your phone, locked with your PIN (fingerprint or Face ID optional). The app locks itself when you leave it, hides its screen in the app switcher, and blocks screenshots. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

What is Decoy PIN (Safe Mode)?

Decoy PIN is a second PIN that opens a separate, harmless vault instead of your real records. If you are ever forced to unlock the app, you can enter the decoy PIN and your real khata stays hidden. Your real PIN always opens your real data.

How does girvi (gold loan) tracking work?

Accepted Answer

Add each pledge with the customer, item, weight, purity, amount given, date and monthly interest rate. JewelKhata gives every pledge a serial number and shows the interest till today and the total due, so you can tell a customer the exact amount at the counter.

How do I back up my data or move to a new phone?

Accepted Answer

Use Settings → Manual Backup. JewelKhata creates a backup file protected with a password you choose, which you can save to Google Drive, WhatsApp or email. On the new phone, install JewelKhata and use Restore Data with the same password. Keep the password safe — it cannot be recovered.

What happens if I forget my PIN?

For your privacy there is no master key and no reset: without the PIN the encrypted records cannot be opened. Keep a recent password-protected backup so you can reinstall the app and restore your data if you ever need to.

Can I use JewelKhata for multiple shops or branches?

Accepted Answer

JewelKhata is designed for a single shop. Data lives only on that phone with no cloud sync, so multi-branch reporting and staff logins are not supported. If you need centralised multi-branch accounting, a cloud ERP is a better fit.
